ProConEU is a Europe-wide collaborative research project involving researchers at the universities of Copenhagen (DK), Ghent (BE), Mannheim and Saarland (D), Newcastle (UK), Thessaloniki (GR), and Torino (I). Funded by the German ministry of education and research (BMBF), it explores the nature of the gap between friends and foes of the EU, and the likely consequences of it.

Thursday Feb 16th: Arrival Day

15:00 – 17:00 hrs: Meeting Kick-off. Topics: Where do we stand with ProConEU? 
Topics: Reports and discussion of project components 

19:00 hrs: Common dinner of participants (Schwarzer Adler)

Friday Feb 17th: Common projects – Working papers and ProConEU book

Morning sessions: WPs reporting and Book working groups 

09:00 – 10:00 hrs: Chapter 1 – Introduction. Discussion about Chapter 2;
10:00 – 10:45 hrs: Chapter 3 – Parties: How do political parties deal with EU polity and EU policy domains in their communication in European Union democracies?
10:45 – 11:30 hrs: Chapter 4 – Voters: How do citizens and/or voters deal with the EU polity and EU policy domains in European democracies?
11:30 – 12:15 hrs: Chapter 5 – Legitimacy: Does the issue debate over polity and policy domains affect EU legitimacy?
12:15 – 13:00 hrs: Chapter 6 – Involvement: Does the issue debate over polity and policy domains affects political involvement?

13:00– 14:30 hrs: Lunch break (tbd)

Afternoon sessions: Book chapters (15 min presentation, 30min discussion) 
14:30 – 15:00 hrs: WPs report
15:00 – 18:00 hrs: Working groups on common projects
