Dominic Nyhuis seit Januar 2014 neuer wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter

The MZES welcomes Dominic Nyhuis as a new researcher of dept. B in the project Issue Salience and Legislative Responsiveness (director: Prof. Gschwend).

Dominic Nyhuis has been a member of the University of Mannheim since 2010. He is currently working on a research project that investigates political parties' salience perceptions by capturing legislator behavior from parliamentary video footage using automated face detection and face recognition. Prior to his work at the MZES, Dominic Nyhuis was a member of the SFB 884. In his doctoral thesis he estimates the policy preferences of the German electoral districts and their influence on the position-taking of candidates for the Bundestag.
