Ilke Toygür neue Gastwissenschaftlerin seit März

The MZES will host Ilke Toygür, PhD Candidate at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Department of Political Science and International Relations until 31 May 2014. Ilke Toygür works in dept. B (Prof Schmitt) in project B2.15, European Election Study Critical Elections in the European union? The Prospects of Ideological Realignment(s) Over the EU Dimension of Political Contestation – A Research Programme for the European Election Study 2014.

Ilke Toygür received her M.A. Degree in Political Science from the “Democracy and Government” program of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Ilke also earned an M.A. Degree in Economics from Sabanci University, Istanbul and holds a B.A. Degree in Economics from Hacettepe University, Ankara. Her main academic research areas include: multilevel political representation, political parties, and elections in Europe in times of crisis. She also teaches various courses including “European Union Politics” and “Elections and Political Behavior”. Prior to her enrollment in the PhD program she worked about three years for a think tank mainly focused on European Union and EU – Turkey relations. She has also been a visiting researcher in European University Institute, Florence. Ilke writes articles for various European think tanks, newspapers and periodicals.
