Dynamics in European Political Identity

The paper shows that European political identity is a very differentiated entity, both theoretically and empirically. Mental maps of European citizens hardly include the new Eastern members yet. On the other hand, time (duration of membership) is found to contibute to mutual trust and feelings of belonging.
