Ashrakat Elshehawy new scientific staff member

Since August 2018, Ashrakat Elshehawy has been working as a researcher at the MZES in the project "Individual Responses to International Democratizing Action (IRIDA)". She holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Mannheim and was an undergraduate visiting student at Trinity College Dublin. She recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim. Her research focuses on democratization processes, the political economy of authoritarian regimes, and military politics. She has a profound interest in exploring the use of computational text analysis in her research.

Previously, as an undergraduate, she worked at GESIS Leibniz-Institut for Social Sciences and at the MZES as a research assistant. During her graduate studies, she worked at the Chair of Empirical Political Research and was a teaching assistant at the Chair of Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences (HWS 2017/2018). She also worked as a student research assistant for the American Political Science Review.
