Dr. Eike Mark Rinke wins prestigious ICA „Outstanding Dissertation in Political Communication Award“

Dr. Eike Mark Rinke has been awarded the Outstanding Dissertation in Political Communication Award of the International Communication Association (ICA) for the best dissertation in the research field of political communication in the last four years. Rinke's dissertation is titled "Justificatory News: Investigating the Contextual Antecedents of Justification in the News".

The ICA is the most prestigious international academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of human and mediated communication. The ICA has more than 4,500 members in 80 countries. The prize for the best dissertation in political communication was awarded at the 67th Annual Conference of the ICA in late May in San Diego. Members of the prize committee were Toril Aalberg (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway (Chair)), Michael Xenos (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA), and Erik P. Bucy (Texas Tech University, USA).
