University of Mannheim Ranks Among Top 10 Percent of Universities Worldwide in Times Higher Education Ranking

The latest Times Higher Education World University Ranking shows once again that the University of Mannheim can hold its excellent ground when compared to international institutions. The university has been ranked number 140 of 1,527 higher education institutions worldwide and number 13 in comparison to other German institutions. This year, the University of Mannheim climbed 17 places in the World University Ranking and two places compared to other institutions in Germany. The University of Mannheim is the only leading German university that does not offer degree programs in natural sciences or medicine. Especially in the research category, the University of Mannheim performed excellent and ranks number 126 worldwide.

The THE World University Ranking is the only ranking to assess research-intensive universities in their core activities: teaching, research and research influence, knowledge transfer, and internationalization. The latest ranking looked at 1,527 higher education institutions worldwide, including 48 German institutions. The rankings are based on questionnaires completed by scholars, citations in academic publications, and statistics provided by the institutions. It has long been considered one of the most recognizable rankings in the global higher education sector.
