Profile/Career
Since November 2022, Katharina Ludwig has been a research associate in the project "Implicit and Explicit Racism in News Media and Social Media: Extent and Impact" in collaboration with Prof. Hartmut Wessler, Dr. Phillip Müller, Dr. Chung-hong Chan, and Rainer Freudenthaler. She can be reached in room A 215 under extension 2854.
Katharina Ludwig studied media and communication science at the University of Mannheim. In her master's thesis, she examined the occurrence of self-transcending emotions in the migration discourse in German media in 2015/2016. Her research interests lie in the perception, use, and impact of political communication in news media and social networks, with a particular focus on migration, racism/discrimination, extremism, and emotions. In terms of methodology, her focus is on standardized and automated content analyses and quantitative experiments.
