by Daniele CaramaniThis data handbook and CD-ROM records for the first time the results of all legislative elections held in 18 European countries collected at the level of single constituencies. The collection of results has been made completely machine-readable according to standard rules across countries, historical periods and electoral systems. Both the electoral history of each country and the complete documentation to the data – enfranchisement, the fairness of voting conditions, the electoral systems – is presented in the handbook. In each country systematic tables provide the complete documentation on the official and secondary sources, the dates of the elections, the lists of constituencies and their changes over time and the names, splits and merges of political parties for each country. A series of introductory chapters describe the evolution of electoral laws in comparative perspective For Europe: |
