| The Societies
of Europe is a series of historical data handbooks with accompanying
CD-ROMs on the development of Europe from the nineteenth to the twentieth
century. It represents the most ambitious attempt so far undertaken to systematically
improve the empirical basis for the comparative-historical analysis of the
various European societies and of European society as a whole. The series is edited by Peter Flora, Franz Kraus, and Franz Rothenbacher, and is essentially a product of EURODATA, the research archive of the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). EURODATA was founded with the objective to contribute to the establishment of a truely European social data base. Titles in the series are:
