Dr. Benjamin G. Engst receives the German Political Science Association’s Dissertation Award
The German Political Science Association (GPSA) awards this year’s Dissertation Award to MZES project director Dr. Benjamin G. Engst for his doctoral thesis, written as part of the MZES project "The Federal Constitutional Court as a Veto Player". The thesis has also won the Lorenz von Stein Award and is published later this year with Palgrave under the title "The Two Faces of Judicial Power: Dynamics of Judicial-Political Bargaining".
According to the GPSA, Dr. Engst's dissertation not only provides new insights into the Federal Constitutional Court but also contributes to rethinking the current understanding of the political function of constitutional courts.
The GPSA’s Dissertation Award is endowed with 1,000 € and is presented annually. The award was also given to Dr. Nabila Abbas (Université Paris Est Créteil).
