Dr. Eva Thomann

Profile/Career
Dr. Eva Thomann is a public policy analyst and completed her cumulative dissertation in Public Administration in February 2015 at the University of Bern. As a postodctoral visiting scholar at the MZES, she analyzes the "customization" of European Union food safety directives and its consequences for policy outcomes. Eva Thomann analyzes the implementation of public policies in fields such as Europeanization, street-level bureaucracy, private and hybrid governance, and policy instruments and outcomes. She has specialized in public health policies, food safety, morality policy and qualitative comparative research methodology. Eva Thomann’s research appeared in renowned international peer-reviewed journals such as Public Administration, the Journal of European Public Policy, the Public Management Review and the Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis: Research and Practice. She co-chairs the Permanent Study Group XIII on Public Policy of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA).
