New MZES Fellow: Dr. Daniel Auer

Daniel Auer is research fellow at MZES since January 2021 and senior researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.

His research focuses on discrimination- and policy-driven mechanisms that affect immigrants' political participation and socio-economic integration. He also studies policy effects in the context of international migration and investigates migration drivers. In his research he applies longitudinal registry data analysis as well as large-scale field experiments and representative surveys in Europe, West-Africa, and the Middle East.

Prior to joining MZES, he studied Political Science and Economics in Vienna, Urbana-Champaign, and Zurich, before receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Lausanne and the Swiss National Science Foundation NCCR. He has also been visiting researcher in Malmoe and Oxford.
