New research fellow in Department A: Dr. Jana Berkessel

Jana Berkessel has joined the MZES as a research fellow in Research Department A in July 2023. Jana received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from the University of Cologne and recently completed her PhD at the University of Mannheim (with a research stay at Columbia University). Her research focusses on how personal determinants (such as socioeconomic status) and sociocultural contexts (such as the religiosity of a country) shape well-being. To do so, she uses large-scale archival data as well as experiments and digital data sources.
