Profile/Career

In October 2024, Christine Emmer joined the MZES as a postdoctoral researcher in the DFG-funded project “UNICON—Understanding Nutrition Inequalities in Context: Momentary and Persistent Processes”. She is also a teaching assistant at the Chair of Health Psychology. Her research focusses on understanding the mechanisms driving social inequalities in health behaviours and health. 

 

Christine recently completed her dissertation in psychology at the University of Mannheim. During her Ph.D., Christine was already affiliated with the MZES. The interdisciplinary project in which she was working at the time was supervised by Jutta Mata (Health Psychology) and Frank Kalter (Sociology) and explored the adverse effects of discrimination on mental health and health behaviors with a specific focus on migrant populations.
