Employment in the Early Phase of the Corona Crisis in Germany

Research question/goal:

The Corona crisis has changed life in Germany suddenly and massively in March 2020. The fear of being infected by the virus and the corresponding measures to contain the pandemic have deeply affected individuals’ lives.
The project examines the influence of the Corona crisis on the working population in Germany. During a ten-week period from 1st May to 10th July, a population-representative sample of persons living in private households is surveyed on a daily basis to collect data about their lives in times of Corona.

The collected data is the basis of the research project scrutinizing the employment situation in Germany on a weekly basis and integrating additional topics such as changes in work location and working from home, reconcilement of child care and employment, fear of being laid off, satisfaction with work and family life, working hours (short-time work), infection protection at the work place.
